Halloween Campout!
Published: Oct 09 2017 9:00 AM
Halloween Campout - Saturday, October 14th (rain date 10/21) at lower Ross Park. Last day to sign up is Thursday, October 12th. Residents can reserve their “campsite” at the Recreation Office between 6:30 – 7:30pm. Reservations must be made in person at the Recreation Office, which is open Monday – Thursday evening. A reservation fee of $10 must be submitted at that time. It will be an overnight event with setup beginning at Noon on 10/14 and clear out by Noon on 10/15. Expected activities include a Halloween costume contest, goodie bags for the kids, movies, fire pit, and some possible other additions. THIS EVENT IS TAKING THE PLACE OF THE HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST ON 10/31 IN THE PAVILION!
The costume contest, tent-or-treating, and all other activities at lower Ross Park the night of the Halloween Campout IS OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS, whether you're staying the night or not! Please spread the word!!
Tents only please – no RV’s, campers, popups, or anything that requires electric or plumbing. All shelter restrooms will be open for attendees use. Campsites will be approximately 30’ x 30’ inside the running track all the way around, with overflow outside of the track in surrounding areas. Campers will be responsible for their own setup/cleanup/food/drinks. We may try to work out a deal with a local food vendor for special carryout pricing that night...more to come on that.
Why charge $10?
- We will run utilities at the park all night, in addition to all restrooms open
- We will have our local police routinely check-in for the safety of all in attendance
- We want some sort of commitment so campsites aren’t reserved, then ultimately not used
A resident family can sponsor one (1) non-resident family. Non-resident campsite fee will be $20.
Come and join the fun! Questions – please contact the Recreation Office at 513.641.3137. More information available on the St. Bernard Recreation Facebook page.
