Hamilton County Residents Invited to Provide Public Input

on Recycling Programs

Hamilton County R3Source (formerly Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District) is currently updating its 15-year Solid Waste Plan, as required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. As part of this important process, Hamilton County residents are invited to provide their input on R3Source’s programs, events, and initiatives. The R3Source team is hosting a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, March 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Members of the public may attend via Zoom. People may also listen via phone by calling 1-312-626-6799; the meeting ID is 857 3379 3542 and the passcode is 737883.

In addition, residents may provide public input through this online survey.

Hamilton County R3Source is seeking public engagement on the following topics in particular:

·         Increasing residential recycling

·         Reducing contamination in recyclables

·         Preventing food waste

·         Yard Trimmings and Household Hazardous Product Drop-Off Programs

·         Decreasing illegal dumping and litter

·         Educational seminars such as Get the Dirt on Backyard Composting

The mission of Hamilton County R3Source is to reduce reliance on landfills through waste reduction, reuse, and recycling programs. To accomplish this mission, Hamilton County R3Source works closely with communities, schools, businesses, and institutions to provide technical assistance, education, and tools designed to reduce waste and capture valuable resources through recycling and composting.
