Proposed Charter Amendments To Be Discussed at Council on Thursday, June 23rd

Mark Wendling, the consultant retained to review our Charter will be at the Council meeting on Thursday, June 23rd to go over the recommended amendments and text changes. Please see the link to the updated version of the report and the text changes to the charter where deletions are stricken, additions/changes are bolded. The primary recommended changes are:
- Director of Public Safety and Service to Municipal Administrator
- Auditor and Treasurer combined into Finance Director
- Elected Law Director to Appointed Law Director
- Composition and Size of Council: Council shall be elected by the electors of the Municipality at-large. Members of Council shall be elected to four-year overlapping terms. At the first municipal election after the adoption of this Charter, the three (3) candidates receiving the largest number of votes shall be elected to four (4) year terms of office and the four (4) candidates receiving the next highest number of votes shall be elected to two (2) year terms of office. Thereafter all members of Council shall be elected for a four (4) year term of office.
