May 2nd is an election day, and early voting is currently open at the Hamilton County Board of Elections at 4700 Smith Road in Norwood. Amendments to the village charter are on the ballot. Please keep in mind two important changes to voting on May 2nd: First, starting this year, you will need a valid, unexpired photo ID to vote. Second, the voting location for this election has moved to Centennial Hall in the lower level of City Hall.
Currently, the only valid forms of ID for voting are:
• an Ohio drivers license
• an Ohio state ID
• a current US passport
• US military ID
• Ohio National Guard ID
• US Dept of Veterans Affairs ID
All identification must be unexpired. Interim ID from the Ohio BMV is also acceptable.
You may no longer use any of the following as voting ID:
• a utility bill
• a bank statement
• a government or payroll check
• student ID
• county veteran ID
• concealed carry license
Anyone who doesn't currently have a valid photo ID for voting can get a free Ohio state ID card from any BMV office. Please check with friends, family, and neighbors to make sure they are aware of these changes and prepared for election day. And remember that the voting location for May 2nd is now Centennial Hall in the lower level of City Hall.
