Thanks for Recycling with the Village of St. Bernard! Below is a list of acceptable items to be placed in your recycling bin. Only items below are accepted in the program. Placing trash and other non-acceptable items in your recycling container may contaminate the entire container or recyclables. If you have questions or concerns, please call the Service Department at 242-0086.
Acceptable Items:
- All plastic bottles and jugs, no lids
- Cartons, caps and straws removed
- Glass jars and bottles of any color
- Aluminum, tin and steel cans
- Empty aerosol cans with lids and tips removed
- Brown grocery bags
- Computer paper, and other mixed office paper, junk mail, folders
- Cardboard, broken down to fit in your bin
- Envelopes, with or without windows
- Junk mail
- Magazines, catalogs and telephone books
- Newspapers with inserts
- Paperboard, such as cereal boxes
- Clean pizza boxes
Not Acceptable Items:
- Plastics that are not bottles or jugs
- Plastic bags
- Styrofoam
- Window or drinking glass
- Coat hangers or scrap metal
- Medical sharps or syringes
